Saturn Stations Retrograde: Returning to the Work

Saturn stations retrograde, and for a moment, the planet associated with time seems to stand still.
Astronomically, a retrograde occurs when a planet appears, from our perspective on Earth, to reverse direction against the background of the zodiac. The planet isn't actually moving backward through space. It is an apparent change in motion created by the changing relationship between Earth and that planet.
Before a planet changes direction, it stations. Its apparent movement slows until it reaches a near standstill, and then it begins moving in the opposite direction. Astrologically, the station matters because the planet remains concentrated around the same degree of the zodiac for an unusually long period of time. Its symbolism becomes emphasized.
And when the planet stationing is Saturn, we are spending some time with one of astrology's great teachers.
Who is Saturn?
Saturn is the planet of time, structure, responsibility, boundaries, discipline, maturity, consequence and mastery.
Saturn teaches that some things cannot be rushed.
